I totally get that. Sometimes I take a break from canon & let myself imagine they got together before season 4, just so I can think of them being together while she had her hair & was healthy, like you said. But I always go back to canon for what I really think happened. And 90% of the time I like the canon version the best anyway, because as sad as it is, it's just so perfect to me.
