I get the stand alone thing because it's easier for people to watch re-runs but arc-type shows are usually better written.

Booth needs an innervation from someone or a punch in the face. You know which ever one will work. :P

I can totally see Brennan proposing because it's what Booth wants and she is more open to the idea. I can already hear the complaining about it though if they decide to go that route. LOL.
