I've never watched Rizzoli & Isles, but I did see a couple of adverts for it when I was in America and my main thought was that they were totally girlfriends...

(ETA - By which I mean 'girlfriends' in the relationship sense, not the 'close female friend' meaning that some people use. Just realised that could be confusing!)
