Dude, I love Mary Murphy. I would like for her to tone down the screeching some because I know people who haven't been watching from the beginning don't get that she actually knows what she's talking about. I mean, I laughed so hard when she brought out the whistle. So, you know.
I think they're scared the viewers won't see chemistry between the dancers if they know one of them is gay. But come on, can't we give the fans more credit than that? It's called acting, people. Does anyone really think all the straight dancers on the show are into each other during their performances? Please.
I get what you're saying, I do. But I hate when I know ANY of the contestants have boyfriends/girlfriends or are married. Randi and Evan were so much less interesting once I knew her hang up was that she was married. Because then I couldn't make up scenarios in my head where she secretly hated him, and that's why she would stand so far from him. No! It was because she's young and married.
I didn't mind so much with Melissa, but that's because she was so much older.
Also, with a lot of them, they were out in the real world, but it just wasn't mentioned on the show. Like Danny and his partner worked together, so it wasn't a secret or anything. Or Adam Lambert on Idol.
Also, it's like when Simon told Kris he shouldn't have mentioned his wife on the show that one time. It's wrong, but you gotta keep the dream alive! Let the audience fill in the blanks! Then again, all of those poor young girls crushing on Travis.
BUT. I do get where you're coming from. I totally do. And I recognize that it's easy for me to talk about keeping the dream alive as a straight chick, so there you go.
