I can't do a full post right now (I'm gonna actually get to bed early for once as I'm feeling all yucky tonight), but I had to post my initial reaction to Bones, and then I'll come back for a complete review tomorrow.
OH MY GOD YOU GUYS.
I SPENT HALF THE EPISODE WANTING TO STAB HART HANSON IN HIS DUMB HEAD FOR ALL THE CONTINUITY FUCK-UPS, AND THEN THE OTHER HALF FLAILING THE FUCK OUT & WANTING TO MAKE OUT WITH THE UNIVERSE FOR ALL THE WONDERFULNESS. WTF AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH THAT.
So uh, yeah, I am very conflicted at the moment, needless to say.
And as far as Booth/Brennan goes? AELAIGHOIEHgoiehagoiaewghoaighoagiheg!!!!!!! *passes out*
Words? Can't really put them together right now. I may have had a stroke.
I do know this: The first kiss? Hot. And I'm already working on fanwanking it to work for me. We'll see how that goes (do I hate it or do I love it? I DON'T KNOOOOOOW. It was so great to see--especially them getting drunk, you know I love that!--but do I like that it changes everything after it? I JUST DON'T KNOW YET).
The second kiss and the subsequent heartbreakingness, meanwhile? I teared up. Not gonna lie. BUT I LOVED IT & IT WAS PERFECT & EXACTLY RIGHT. AND I LOVE MY BRENNAN & I LOVE MY BOOTH & THEY WERE BOTH SO GREAT IN THAT SCENE & SO DAMN SADFACE & GAH. AND HOW SHE FEELS ABOUT HERSELF MAKES ME WANT TO WEEP FOR HER FOREVER, AND OMG HER FAAAACE WHEN SHE WAS ASKING IF THEY'D STILL WORK TOGETHER & WHEN SHE WAS SAYING SHE UNDERSTOOD AFTER HE TOLD HER HE WAS GONNA MOVE ON (AND WAS WIPING AWAY HER TEAAAAAAARS), AND THEN HIS FACE AFTER HE KISSED HER & SHE PULLED AWAY, AND *BOTH* THEIR FACES, AND AHHHHHHHH. AND THEN THEY WALKED AWAY LEANING AGAINST EACH OTHER AND I CAN'T TAAAAAAKE IIIIIIIT.
I also know this: No matter how rage-inducing all the continuity fuck-ups were to me (just one example of many: ANGELA & BRENNAN DID NOT MEET A MONTH BEFORE THAT FIRST CASE, ASSHOLE. Refer to "The Woman in the Garden," you memory-challenged motherfrakker!), a lot of the rest of the episode was great (Zackaroni! 1st season Hodgins! Brennan with a bat! Sad!Shipper!Sweets!). So it's like, GAH I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO SAY. Hence why I need a day to compose my thoughts & do a rewatch & can then do a real review. Hopefully by then I can say what I really think of the whole thing. At this point the only thing I know for sure is that the continuity fuck-ups sucked & I'm just going to have to file them in the "ignore this" section of my brain, and that the final scene was exactly in character & full of perfect perfectness. And don't worry shippers, those two crazy kids are totes gonna be all right. I'm sad for them right now, but I know they'll be together in the end. They're not a "will they or won't they?" couple and never have been. They're a "when will they?" couple. Big difference. And yes, it's scary that their relationship just changed in a big way, thus affecting the dynamic of the show, but I think it's time the show took that step anyway, so I'm excited. Also? I'M STILL FUCKING EXCITED AS FUCK FOR NEXT WEEK. UNDERCOVER HIGH SCHOOL REUNION DANCEY-DANCE EPISODE FTW! (esp. since now I know why Brennan looked all melancholy in that picture! Awww! *wipes tear*)
The best part of all this though? LORD KNOWS THERE'S GOING TO BE AN INSANE AMOUNT OF FANFIC. BRING IT ON, FANDOM.
Until tomorrow night, y'all. Brace yourselves for the review, because between the flail & the irritation, it's gonna be capslocky like whoa. Ha.
P.S. Unrelated to the Bones stuff above, I feel like adding something else tonight too: My local news cracks me up sometimes, for real. You guys know about the second earthquake in Mexico/Cali today, right? (
treeofstars, no bookshelf pinning, right? You been hating on Diet Pepsi, again? I thought we discussed this!) Well, my local news apparently decided that story wasn't juicy enough, because right now they just aired a story about how "there could be an earthquake here too!" Really? YOU DON'T SAY. Could it be the three fault lines around here? I NEVER WOULD'VE GUESSED. That's some breaking news right there! Someone break out a Pulitzer!
No vid of the day today, because I'm exhausted & need to get myself to bed, but yes. More to come tomorrow. Night, folks!
