(no subject)

So, my paid account expires on the 12th, and here's the thing. I have money, and want to renew it so it doesn't expire, but I don't have a credit card. Would any of you, who do have one, be willing to hook me up here, if I sent you the money in the mail? Pwease?

In other news, I've been working on your cartoon more, dosi, but it's giving me attitude. Le sigh. Some of the stuff you can do on computers is cooler than on paper, but some things are more difficult. And, like, some of the stuff on there looks good to me, so I can't just let the rest be all non-good! I've set a precedent already, damn't! Stupid cartoon. Or, you know, stupid perfectionism. But, yeah, point is, I'm working on it, and making more progress. Closer and closer to being done.

If you meet Buddha on the road, kill him

I just saw the dumbest anti-drug ads. The first had kids in a restroom or something, smoking pot (*gasp*), and then a guy walks in and handcuffs one of them. And the ad's all "You could get busted! Marijuana: Harmless?" Oh, for the love of God. It's illegal? You don't say! And that's the best they can do, to try to convince kids not to do it? Tell them that they might get in trouble for it? Riiight.

Then, I saw this one with two teens sitting in a room, one playing with a gun. The kid that isn't playing with it, is all "Is it loaded, dude?" and the other's like "Nah" and then it goes off, and the ad's like "Marijuana impairs your sense of reality" or some dumb shit (I can't remember, but it was something equally retarded). So, let me get this straight. If I smoke pot, I'll shoot myself in the face? All righty, then.

Guess I got lucky when I smoked it! Heh. Christ.

I was also going to make fun of this new product, called "Ohm", because I thought they were trying to rip off Hinduism and shit, but then realized "Ohm" might just be a word in another language. Then I looked it up, and I guess it is. But still. You know they're probably counting on people making that association. Like, this product is all deep and shit! For people who do yoga, and eat tofu! Ommmmmm. . .

On a similar note, I hate people who make fun of things they don't even get. Like, if you know what om means, and you jokingly go "ommmm" (like I sometimes will), it's cool. But I hate when people do it, when they don't even know what it means. Just bugs me. Because if you understand its meaning, and are joking, it's probably more a making fun of yourself thing. But it seems like when people who don't understand it, make fun of it, they're belittling it, like medicants are silly or something.

Same thing with people who think they're all cool, because they're into yoga, and are all pretentious about it, when they don't have a clue what yoga's really about, or that it's not just about sitting in a lotus position and going "ommmmm." I don't mean the people who do yoga and are totally honest that they're just doing it for exercise, or because it's calming for them, but don't know much about it for real. That's completely fine. I mean the people who think they're enlightened or something, because they have henna dye on, and shit. They're all "Look at us! We're so edgy and hip! We watch Oprah, and meditate!" Kind of bugs me when people throw the word "karma" around improperly as well. But not too much. You have to let some shit slide, obviously.

Of course, "willful ignorance" as kopernik put it so well, always irritates me. If you don't know anything about a subject, then keep your mouth shut. I remember this one comedian that was joking about Buddhists, saying that if they were on a plane which was crashing, "What, would they be yelling Buddha? No one ever yells Buddha, when a plane's crashing. They'll be yelling God!" Dude. Hey, dumb fuck, perhaps you could've, gee, I don't know, learned a thing or two about the religion, before making that kind of statement? Number one, Buddhists don't believe Buddha was God, so of course they wouldn't be yelling his name. Idiot. Number two? It's not a competition. Shut up.
