Okay, let's try to simmer down here & string some words together:
-THEY HAD SEX. OMG OMG.<--aaaand clearly not simmered down yet, hee. I TOLD YOU THERE'D BE CAPSLOCK. I'M NOT SORRY.
For real though. If there had only been a camera present when that clock showed up on the screen. Haha. I flipped oooout. Like, "IT'S ON. IT'S SO ON. 4:47, muthafuckaaaas!" (Oh, yes, you'd better believe I recognized & remembered that time. SAME AS THE S4 FINALE. YES, YES.)
-SHE WAS IN HIS BED. He was rubbing her back. WHILE SHE WAS IN HIS BED. I can't stop capslocking. (all right, so I can, but this is too fun. Hee hee. It's been so long since I've been able to go buckwild flailing in this journal!)
-Did you guys SEE the smile on her face with Angela? Did you see how happy Angela was FOR her? She yelled at Hodgins! Hahaha. AWESOME.
-BOOTH'S FACE WHEN BRENNAN SHOWED UP WITH THE FLOWERS. There was like a MAGNET o' ~we just had sex/when can we do it again?/How about every day forever~ linking their eyes together in that scene.
-She linked arms with him at the end! So easily! THEIR FACES. So happpyy togetherrrr[/singing]
-I thought I would be disappointed if I didn't get to see at least part of their 1st time sexytimes onscreen--if anything just a kiss, or a shot of them in bed after (a la Adama & Roslin in s4)--but I'm okay with this. It somehow works. Like, they could always do a flashback later, but even if they don't, I can see how this might actually be for the best. No risk of ruining the moment by not getting it exactly right, more of a subtle transition into subsequent sexytimes & coupledom, tension being maintained AND escalated since we know they've been together now but are still waiting to see them act on it again, and so on. As long as we get to see *some* early-relationship-passion in the works (again, to me this could even just mean a big smoochy kiss vs. the type of chaste peck you're bound to see more often later), this could be perfect. It lets them continue to build slowly, without a sudden, "EVERYTHING IS DIFFERENT BECAUSE OF ONE SCENE"-type deal. I mean, everything IS different, but doing it this way leaves less of a risk of being anticlimactic going forward.
I just really, really hope the finale ends with them TOGETHER-together, like as a couple. I will wail if HH pulls some "I'm still too angry/I'm still too impervious--back to being partners & that's it for now!" shenanigans. DON'T YOU DARE, WRITERS. Heh. I don't think they will though, because seriously, the title of the finale is "The Change in the Game" and ONCE AGAIN, THE CLOCK. Yo.
-Did I mention that Brennan got into bed with Booth, & they had sex? And she was in his sweatshirt, & he was all pectastic in his PJs? I'm just sayin'. It takes a lot to make me look away from Brennan, but homeboy was workin' it. THOSE ARMS. THEY ARE BIG.
(I totes thought about how she probably had no bra on though. WHAT.)
-I had such a sciencey Brennan moment over her crying before they got it on, though, thanks to that study recently about how men's testosterone levels & sex drive decrease at the mere sight of a woman's tears (or the taste of them, even if they can't see them). But then I had a Boothy moment & was all, "TELL THAT TO WHEN HARRY MET SALLY." Which, if Brennan *were* here right now, she'd probably be all, "Who's Harry & where is this Sally?" And then Cam or Hodgins or someone could be like, "You've seen 'When Harry Met Sally', Booth? Dude." And he could tell them to shut up & fidget with his manly belt buckle or something. Hee. GOOD TIMES.
P.S. "You're staying at my place tonight." Like, HE DIDN'T ASK. HE JUST SAID IT. And she was just like--word. Good plan. THAT WAS HOT.
-Okay, okay, enough about teh sex. VINCENT. Oh, man. I'd heard fans say they expected it to be him, but I didn't know for sure, nor did I know how or when it would happen. The second he popped up in the diner though, I was like, "Okay. It's him." (sidenote: I loved their dorky laughing, heh. I get the same way when I'm really happy or excited over something. Case in point: THIS ENTRY). Plus then Hodgins was all, "It's life and death" to Cam while pulling VNM away, and then a bunch of anvils fell on my head & I was like, "…I'm guessing that was foreshadowing. Also, ow."
-I know it's boring compared to everything else, but I loved the T-Rex stuff. That was so silly & fun. I actually feel sad that Brennan won't be able to present that stuff with him. *Sniff*.
-Welcome back, Musical Montage o' Crime Solvin'! I see you've brought along your Evil Twin, the Musical Montage o' Impending Death.
-That was well done, btw. I knew Cam, Angela, & Hodgins were all safe, but I was still all, "AGH! AGH! I FEEL NERVOUS" during that scene. I think it largely has to do with The Mummy though. And by that I mean the actor. Heh. I dig him. He is wicked intense.
-Having VNM die simply because he picked up a phone--GAH. First I thought of Southland (Naaaaate), because of how out-of-nowhere/senseless it felt (in a good way. Like I said, I didn't know when to expect the death, and I didn't think it was going to happen until later in the hour), and now I'm also thinking of Dollhouse ("promise me you won't answer the phone!"), and…obviously I need to stop watching so much TV. Heh. SO MANY REFERENCES, so little time.
Anyway, seriously though, mad props to the show not only for surprising me but for making it so deliciously sad ('cause, really, SO SENSELESS--just a matter of being there at the wrong time & taking the phone--but also so totally NOT senseless for the fact that it meant saving Booth's life. PERFECT). Brennan's last words to him before he got shot? "Try to sound like Booth." I don't know, but that got to me. And then his last words? Ahhh. "Please don't make me go" and "I've enjoyed it here/love it here" and UGH. I didn't cry, but that was really good. Everyone's acting--DB's, ED's, the actor who plays VNM--was right on point. AND THE WRITING. Like, I already mentioned the "please don't make me leave" bit, but Brennan's responses? There just aren't words. The whole thing was just so sad. HE WAS HER FAVORITE. SHE DIDN'T KNOW HE WAS TALKING TO GOD/THE UNIVERSE. ealihgolihgoigh
-Cam's reactions too! I just want to SQUISH ALL OF THEM. I actually like how she called him a weirdo, hee. It was obviously done with such affection.

-Sweets somehow redeemed himself to me for his recent annoyingness a little just by Angela & Hodgins putting him in his place. It made his quackery (get it? Because he's the Baby Duck? *rimshot*) more endearing as a result. Also: Lime in da Coconut is his jam (continuity!), AND THEN THEY ALL SANG. And Brennan brought flowers. And those flowers sat on top of Vincent's coffin as it drove away, which was just lovely, both as a visual & in concept. And Sweets saluted the car. (!!! I loved that) And THE WHOLE THING. I JUST, YOU GUYS. I'M GOING TO MISS VNM EVEN MORE NOW.
