Life's a bitch and then you die

rachg82Today's subject heading and icon are brought to you by the extended cut version of "Unfinished Business," from the season 3 Battlestar Galactica DVDs I purchased last week. In this episode, Roslin and Adama do the following: smoke weed ('cause you know that's what they're smoking, come on! Haha), drink, cuddle on the beach, and generally make Rachael wonder if it's possible to die from exposure to adorableness. Like, really, what are you people trying to do to me?
Thank God they didn't cut out the entire cuddly part from the aired episode or I would've been a Sad Panda. Because that scene is just a thing of beauty. And then when you add in the unaired parts it's even better. You start with the aired episode where you're all "well, hello there Roslin, could you be lying on top of Adama any more than you already are? WAY TO BE HIS BLANKET." And then you watch the unaired clips and Adama is straight-up *singing to her* and making her giggle, and she's like listing off the thousand ways they could die like "life's a bitch, Bill." Haha. So cute! Not to mention the morning-after scene where he's clearly completely stoned and can't remember what he's supposed to say to Tyrol, and Roslin has to whisper in his ear to remind him and then literally turns away to hide her laughter but you can still see her shoulders shaking.
Oh my God, could it be possible to love these two more? I really don't think it is.
Anyway though. So I had planned to talk about the first episode of season 4.5 tonight ("Sometimes a Great Notion"), but I'm realizing now that I'm just way too tired to be articulate. I'll probably write about it this weekend, and likely the rest of the season as well if I have time. I want to watch the finale this weekend too, but kind of don't want to until I've talked about the rest of the season here first. Which is, yeah, totally crazy. Heh. But I've never pretended to be sane, so what can ya do.
I can at least say this right now though, re: that episode. It is seriously so. fucking. sad. Like, GAH. I'm about ready to call for a deathmatch between the 4th season of this show and the 5th season of Angel to see who can angst it out the hardest. I think BSG has killed off more major characters at this point (especially if you factor in season 3) but Angel has "A Hole in the World" on its side, so. . .yeah. That's got to count for like three deaths, am I right? That episode's like "JOSS WHEDON WANTS YOU TO CRY AND HE'S NOT GOING TO TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER."
Hey, at least they follow it up with Adama/Roslin SexyTimes not long after, hee. SHE WEARS HIS ROBE, Y'ALL. And Tigh walks in on them the next morning! Ahhh, it is so fabulous. Equally hilarious are the looks he and everyone else shoot them as they're kissing later in that same episode. The expressions in that scene are SO fucking priceless, oh my God. Haha. I may have to picspam that one.
And now I should really just get myself to bed. But first I did want to let everyone know that my Mom is out of the hospital and to say thanks again to everyone for their support. There's still another test to be done to see if she needs another stint in her heart, but at least they were able to get the fluid down with dialysis. So, situation normal again, I suppose. Completely sucky situation, yeah, but better than her being in the hospital and all the scary associations that go along with that.
P.S. One more thing, because I can't resist talking about the Bones promo. SEPTEMBER, YOU NEED TO BE HERE NOW, OKAY? I'm still a little nervous about the new season I admit, and crossing my fingers that they handle things well, but I'm also starting to get really, really psyched again for new episodes. Some of the stuff looks a little silly, but then some of the other things look really fun, and also some of the spoilers I've heard have me excited. I'm trying my very hardest to not read the sides this time though, and only glance at summaries for some of them. But it is not easy, people. I am like a crazy Bones spoiler junkie. It would help if people would post some fanfic or something to tide me over. Like, come on, people! I need my Booooooones.
ETA: Check the new layout! First new layout in, wow, uh, seven years. Okay, you know what? I AM GETTING OLD. Heh.
