Check it out, ladies & gents. I actually created an icon. Of course it's literally just a crappy uploaded picture file from my computer (from the X-Files/Simpsons crossover episode), as I have only the most basic of photo programs on this computer now (due to the great virus purge of '08), but still! I had a couple other images from this episode that I was dying to use too, but they were coming in too blurry. This one cracks me up though. It takes me back to the days when the fans had an entire website devoted to Mulder's red speedo scene in season 2. Haha. Ahh, *memories*.

And btw: For the longest time that's been the image that shows up when I log into my yahoo email account, hee. I also have a picture of Scully at her computer from that ep as my screensaver. I AM A HUGE DORK.

I'm still sad about the fact that I accidentally recorded over that ep back in the day. I had it recorded on VHS and then mistakenly taped over it with the 4th season finale or something. Since then I've tried finding a copy of it online but to no avail. Sigh. Life is hard, yo.

Anyway though, guess what?

Sadly a couple of them didn't come out as well as I'd hoped, but those are the consequences of using an old school traditional camera vs. a digital one (i.e. I couldn't see which ones came out right away & which ones didn't). I need to get extra memory for my digital camera so I'll be more tempted to use it. You know what's funny though about me sometimes using an older camera? My nephew didn't even know what it was when he first saw me loading film into it. He didn't understand what the film was for, or why he couldn't see the pictures immediately after I took them. And when I tried to explain it to him, he was like "oohh" and acted vaguely interested but still had this expression on his face like "why don't you just use a normal camera like everyone else, tia?" Heh. It's the same expression he gets when he asks me why I don't own a car. Or the expression adults give me when I explain that I still don't have a cell phone (I've never had one, and no I'm not kidding. I've also never had a credit card. I am basically a complete fucking weirdo). Then they yell at me because apparently not having a cell phone is like a crime punishable by death. They're like "you STILL don't have a cell phone, Rachael? But what if you get lost! What if you get stranded! What if you need a ride somewhere!" And then I'll be like "fiiiiiine, I'll get one, I promise!" But I never do. Hee. It pisses my entire family off, haha. Not to mention the conversation I had with Jen ([livejournal.com profile] dosidella) recently, where she was like "Rachael, HOW THE HELL DO YOU NOT HAVE A CELL PHONE YET, the 21st century is almost over!" and I was like "what? No it's not, what are you talking about?" and she was like "well, it's almost over for you, because if you don't get a cell phone soon I'M GOING TO KILL YOU." Heh.

Back to the point though: pictures! Lots of 'em, too. And luckily plenty of them turned out good, so it's okay a few of them didn't.

Prepare for cuteness, folks!

That's Isabella with my sister, obviously. I think this is my favorite of the whole bunch honestly. It's such a nice picture of both of them.

And here's two more of them together, just for the heck of it:

That's Izzie checking out the big legos that came with the activity table I got her.

Jay and Isabella playing with that same activity table (you flip the top over if you want to play with the lego side).

And there's the tea set I bought her (my second gift). So adorable!

Isabella riding her new wagon/scooter (given to her by my mom and stepdad). They stripped her down to her bloomers so she could go buck wild with the cake, heh. And in case anyone's wondering why my sister has so many picture frames sitting on the floor, they're still unpacking from a recent move.

As you can see, it turns into an actual wagon/stroller type deal too. Very efficient!

Izzie checking out the awesome toy my mom and stepdad chipped in with my sister and brother in law to buy. That thing is so great, it's got like a million different things to mess with on both sides (it's got a thing to drop balls into, shape sorting spots, a mail box, a window that opens & closes, etc). Even Jayden was playing with it.

Izzie with Joe (my stepdad).

The woman I can blame my short genes on, a.k.a. my mom.

I really like this picture for some reason. I think it's the way she's framed by the door and is looking right at the camera. It's cute.

Isabella checking out the presents I got for her. Notice how my wrapping paper matches her dress! Mad skillz! Heh.

"Look ma, no hands!"

Dang, I wish the top of the picture hadn't been cut off! Still cute though.

Talk to the hand, big brother. Heh. He is totally trying to pose all cute with her, and she's just not having it.

Jayden giving the exact same squinty smile my sister and I used to make for pictures when we were kids. Hee. Must be a genetic thing. P.S. Here is an example of what I mentioned above, re: some of the pictures not turning out. I know I took a couple other pics of him too, but they must've not been developed because they were too dark or something. Oh well.

That's Lance (my brother in law).

Mmm, cake. She's got a very serious babyface in this picture.

The obligatory chocolate-covered baby pic. I couldn't resist.

The expression on her face here kills me. The caption for this should totally read: I can't believe I ate the whole thing. Haha.

And lastly, here's an actual decent shot of little ole me:

So there you have it, folks. I hope I didn't OD you all on cuteness. It does take training to build up a tolerance for this level of cute-tasticness, I know. Stretching afterward is recommended.

I plan to do another entry in the next day or two, where I'll probably give some short reactions to 500 Days of Summer and also give some further commentary on Battlestar Galactica season 4.5. I'm super close to wrapping this commentary up, as I only have a few episodes left to talk about before the finale. I'm still debating whether to wait to watch it until I've finished talking about those other eps first. That's what I wanted to do, because for some reason it would feel anti-climactic to me otherwise, but my resolve is weakening. From what I've already been spoiled on though, I think I might need to have a grief counselor handy during my viewing. Or like a stockpile of tissues or something. Because I am positive I'm going to be the biggest weepy mess in the history of man while watching it, most specifically for the Roslin/Adama scenes, but quite possibly some of the Lee/Kara ones as well. Not to mention the normal "my show is ending!" tears, of course. So maybe it's best I wait a few more days so I can make those preparations. Heh. Y'all might want to put out some sandbags to hold off the impending flood of tears, seriously.

Oh, yeah, and I almost forgot! Here's the Vid of the Day. This time it'll just be a short clip from Supernews (one of the shows I mentioned in my last entry). This one is so cute and silly. Makes me laugh every time I watch it.

"It has begun!" Hee.

I swear one of the best things about being an aunt is you get to play with little kid toys again! So much fun.
