"Rachael," I can hear you all thinking, "what the hell are you doing up at 4:30 in the morning?" Well, this is what happens when you have a migraine and sleep all day. Kinda throws the whole "sleep at night" thing off. So I figure since I'm up anyway, I might as well post something, right?
1. I'm finishing my period. . .'nuff said.
2. The girl who usually handles non-compliant accounts at work (the one I took over for this summer when she had her baby) has been sick for something like a month now, forcing me to do my job plus half of hers the whole time. Now she won't be back for at least another week (perhaps longer, we have no idea because we don't even know what the problem is) and so I have to put *all* of my stuff aside now to do her job full-time, and will have to play catch up on things that have been getting behind for weeks.
3. As I said, I woke up with a gnarly migraine this morning (see above, re: period) and had to stay home. Nothing--not excedrin, not advil, not imitrex--put a dent in it until it was too late for me to go in & get anything done anyway, and I had SO MUCH WORK to do. It's especially disappointing because the imitrex cost me $200 for 9 pills (unbelievable, I know), and to take two and have them not even help is like UGH.
And the thing is, the imitrex does help if I take it before the migraine gets to that point (like when it's starting to really hurt, but I'm not quite bedridden yet), but it unfortunately doesn't do a whole lot other than put me to sleep if I wake up with the pain already at def-con 1. I really need something to help in those cases too, because I can't just keep putting my life on hold several times a month whenever the hell my body decides to act up. It's no way to live.
4. Amy & I are *still* trying to find time to hang out. She is practically impossible to plan anything with ahead of time, I swear to God. Which would be fine if she didn't keep sending me vague "let's hang out this weekend!" comments on facebook, just to not actually be able to hang out that weekend. Argh.
5. It is now January 9th and my dad has still not called me back to see how my Christmas was, or thank me for my gift, or even just to talk and return my message when we haven't talked in six months. He is so effing fail you could probably look the word up in a dictionary & find a big ole picture of him. I actually mentioned the situation on my facebook a couple days ago and immediately got comments from two of my cousins who were all "it's not you" and "didn't you know our last name comes with a side of drama?" Which. . .yeah, it really, really does. But then again, this is the kind of guy who thinks it's okay to push an eleven year old out of a moving car, so why am I still surprised when he acts like a dick? I guess it's because we always want to believe the best of our parents, don't we? Even when they've given us every reason in the world not to. It's a blind spot that takes a long time to outgrow.
But anyway, sorry to lay so much negativity on you guys, but sometimes you've just gotta vent, you know?
On a more positive note, once my migraine finally went away & I dragged my ass outta bed, I spent some time tonight watching a bunch of season 3 Buffy eps (hence the subject heading), which was super enjoyable as I hadn't watched them in a long time. "Doppelgangland", "Choices," "The Prom," and "Graduation Day Part I and II." Not a bad way to pass a few hours, all things considered. I'd forgotten how much fun "Doppelgangland" was in particular. "I'm eleven hundred years old, JUST GIVE ME A FREAKIN' BEER!" Haha. Oh, Anya. How I love you.
After my DVD-fest, I also spent an hour or so tonight messing around with icons. Two new BSG ones and also two Buffy/Faith icons as well:

Nothing amazing, no, but I'm still getting the hang of the whole icon-making deal, and am working with the most basic photo-editing software in the world, so hey. Basic or not, I kinda like them, and had fun making them, so I figured I'd share.
Now I'm finally getting tired though, so I'd better end this & get my butt to bed. This time we'll go with a Buffy/Faith vid because it's way past time I pimped my Buffy/Faith love 'round these parts. This one is by cmspillane and has been one of my faves for a while. Love the song, love the angstyness, love the dark lighting. It's short & simple, and only focuses on a few moments between them in season 3, but imo it does a perfect job touching on the bittersweetness of what they could've been--even just as friends--and how the events of "Bad Girls" forever altered that.
ETA: Okay, so I WILL go to bed, but first I'm going to cheat and post a second vid, because I did that thing where you watch one vid on youtube & then see another in the "related vids" category & get sucked into watching it too (don't you hate that?). And this one is all fluffy & squishy & cute and perfectly balances out the angst of the first vid. So I can't resist posting it too.
(P.S. this one was was uploaded by Ashleylimafanvids but says in the vid itself it was created by sammi.)
All right, NOW I am going to bed. For real this time. Promise.
