rachg82: (Gilmore Girls WTF)
Today's icon is brought to you by today's weather here in the Pacific Northwest. Could someone please explain to Mother Nature that it's supposed to be fall now? Hence the 95 degree temperatures today were a bit over-kill? Like, WTF weather, way to be on crack. Don't you know crack is wack? Whitney Houston says so and everything.

I've had a few other WTF moments today too. The first was technically in the middle of the night, when I randomly found myself half-awake and swore I saw a spider hanging in front of my face. And I literally yelped, jumped out of my bed, turned on the light, and there was nothing there. And I was like. . ."okaaaaay then, ANYWAY." Rock on with the hallucinatory night terrors there, self!

My third and final WTF of the day came from the crazypants customer who called me literally two minutes before I was supposed go home, and then proceeded to yell at me at like 90 miles an hour for the next 30 minutes straight. It took all my powers not to be like "OKAY, I get it. The gist of this is that you're a shitstain on the seat of mankind, and you're here to ruin my day. That's great for you. Hope it works out. BUT I NEED TO GO CATCH MY BUS NOW. YOU CAN KINDLY KISS MY ASS AND CALL BACK TOMORROW. EXCEPT BY TOMORROW I MEAN NEVER, BECAUSE YOU SUCK."

Ahh, the joys of handling non-compliant accounts. Heh. What fun! Truthfully though, I will actually miss certain aspects of the role when the girl I'm filling in for comes back (she's been on an extended maternity leave). I liked having coworkers asking me questions, and coming to me for things, and I really enjoyed having more responsibility and freedom. I also did way, way better at it than I thought I would. I was worried I was too nice to do a job like this, but it turns out I've got the whole "float like a butterfly, sting like a bee" thing down. Ha. So it's been a nice boost in confidence for me, professionally-speaking. At least when I go back to sales though I can start trying to get bigger bonuses again. Those are always nice. Sometimes the competitiveness of trying to meet certain sales goals can be stressful though, but it's not like dealing with the crazypants shenanigans of non-compliant customers isn't stressful either. Both roles have their pros & cons. Either way, it's cool I was chosen for it, because it's one more thing to put on my resume now, and one more thing to use in my favor toward hopefully gaining a permanent job there & moving up the ladder.

Moving on though, I had a couple quick tv-related things I wanted to talk about, re: The Emmys (which I watched on my DVR just last night because I'm super timely like that) & the most recent ep of Parks & Recreation. After all, I can't just be on here rambling about my real life all day, now can I? Not when there's ~important~ things to talk about such as television, right? Like, get your priorities straight, Rachael! Hee.

Dear Emmys, don't think I didn't notice you using Bear McCreary's music during your Best Drama montage! )
