I think it's the HBIC thing, but in this case with a male. People are attracted to those who exude confidence, can protect others (or at least themselves), and are capable/skilled/strong/in control.
It helps that, like Broadsky, he's in a suit as he's doin' it. I'm just sayin'! Ha. He's not in a pair of sweats, fresh off the couch! Like, "ehhhh, I guess I'll help out! I CAN'T BELIEVE I'M MISSING THE GAME!"
