My allergies are going bonkers this morning (itchy, itchy, itchy, itchy, ITCHY nose. Itchy face, itchy hands, itchy everything), I only slept two hours, and I feel utterly barfy. The allergies make sense, since I kept going behind my entertainment center yesterday, trying to figure out my TV, and it's hella dusty back there. The insomnia & nausea can be linked to emotions & their annoyingness. Plus I took a nap yesterday, pretty late in the afternoon, so waking up early this morning isn't exactly ~bizarre~. Still.

Anyway, my TV still doesn't work (part of me keeps hoping it'll magically turn back on), and I have my follow-up appointment tonight at the naturopathic clinic--I'll be able to find out the results of all but the hormone test, which I'll do after my next period--and that'll get me out of the apartment for a while, but there are a lot of pesky hours between now & then. Pesky, nose-scratching hours. (I need to go buy an antihistamine, seriously.)

…and I had to take a break just then, because I did in fact barf. WHAT FUN.

Whatever, back to the entry. (Sorry for all the complaining, btw)

Point is: I'm cranky & bored, too icky feeling to want to get up & clean, and too tired to focus on my fic yet. Hence, more spam for you lovely ladies.

Oh, and btw? Before I get into the final batch of pictures here, I have news: BBC America is now airing Battlestar Galactica. They just showed the miniseries the other day, so if you start watching now you can jump onboard the Awesomesauce Train with me & sit at the cool table.[/peer pressure]

What's that? You want a glimpse as to what you're in for? No problem:

I LOVE THIS SHOW SO DAMNED MUCH, Y'ALL. That vid legit gave me chills.

Okay, enough of that & on with the pictures. These ones are mostly from the '80s, though there's a few from the '90s as well. There's pretty shots of Oregon being pretty, my chubby baby face, and horrendous clothing to get your day started off right with some good ole fashioned schadenfreude. You know you enjoy that.

Like before, I'll try to put these in a somewhat chronological fashion.

It's a baby!Rachael! I've been told I really liked that swing.

My 1st birthday. It's normal to want to go back in time & pinch your own cheeks, right? I'm just saying.

Me & my cousin Abram. It's always amused me that I look more like him than I do my own siblings. Genetics are weird.

Me in the playhouse my dad built for us. See, he had (and still has) problems, of that there's no doubt, but he did do a few things right. Credit where credit is due. (it's part of the balance my ACA book talks about--being able to acknowledge the good & the bad from your childhood, which is hard because it gets confusing. Sometimes it's like you've got two people in one, and you're not sure which is real, and you've got to try to match them up in one human & make sense of it all. Or conversely NOT make sense of it, but just accept it--the past, I mean.)

This one confuses the hell out of me, because I thought I didn't meet my stepmom until '86, and this says 1984. I'm gonna have to ask her next time we talk, especially because I know I went to visit her in Boston early on, and I still remember parts of that trip, so if it happened at two instead of four, that's pretty crazy. Go go gadget super memory. (not that crazy though, I suppose, since I already remembered the ear surgery I had at two, etc. But still! The memories of that trip are REALLY clear. It's when I got my Pound Puppy!)

This is the camping trip in '86 that I was thinking of above, when my stepmom moved to Oregon. I remember it was the first time she had ever been camping. East-coasters -- what are ya gonna do.

Me & my cousin again. We're close in age, so we were always pretty close growing up.

Hee. I look pissed off about something.

My sister & me. There were quite a few more shots of us, but right now I'm not really in the mood to look at all of them.

My first trip to Disneyland. I remember looking everywhere for Daisy Duck & being so disappointed she wasn't around. On subsequent trips, I made it a point to look for her again. Heh. When she eventually showed up, I was like, "VICTORY!"

1988 at the Oregon coast. That's me, my sister, and my cousin.

Pretty lake is pretty.

I miss having a raft.

SUCH AN '80S CHILD. Don't be jealous.

…like I said. Wow, self. Just--wow.

My dad & uncle playing music. This was them during a good chunk of the weekends I spent there.

4th of July, probably 1989 or 1990.

Playing school & dress-up. Good times, good times.

My brother is cuter than your brother. Trufax. (Might I add that he was already speaking in full sentences at that age, saying things like, "I'll do it by my lonesome!" Like, kid, you're still in a diaper--how do you even know the word "lonesome"?)

What the eff, haha.

This sequence of photos cracks me up. I was so clearly not having whatever was being said to me.

Hells yes, that's an original Nintendo. We used to play that together all. the. time. DUCKHUNT, BITCH.

Remember how I said I'm competitive? I wouldn't let him win even then.

OH my God. That dress.

Heh.

13 year old!rachg82. I think, anyway, based on my hair. It's around there.

Me & Kyle (my half-brother). I remember I LOVED that dress.

Aw. That's me back in 2000 (18 years old) with my bro again, three years before they moved out of state. He loved frogs, so that was one of my gifts to him for his birthday that year. (the other was a framed print of the Sistine Chapel--he was into Michelangelo at the time). We were so bonded in those days, he was pretty much like a version 1.0 of Jayden later on. I still miss him being little, not to mention being nearby at all. I haven't seen him since he was 13, and he's 20 now.

And that's all, folks. Hope it was fun (and encourages you to post pics of your own. I wish people would do that more, especially old ones). It helped keep me busy long enough for my nausea to subside & my anti-itch cream to do its thang, so that's a yay.

P.S. If they're done with their renovation, I'll try to hit up Voodoo Doughnut tonight for that photo meme question of yours, [livejournal.com profile] keenai. Cross your fingers for me--I really want an Old Dirty Bastard. Oreos, peanut butter, chocolate frosting, NGH.

For my VotD, let me pass on some music-y joy. THIS MADE MY FREAKIN' DAY. Honestly. So great.

Aww, you were so cute! I want to go back in time and squish you.

I totally hear you about the allergies. It's been awful lately. Robert and I are both suffering and my niece has been having a terrible time as well -her throat is so sticky that her uvula keeps getting stuck to her tonsil when she lies down at night. Which of course prompts us to ask her 50 million times a day how her uvula is doing. (Because it's FUNNY, that's why. Besides, how often do you actually get to use that word in conversation?)

Hee, baby pics are sort of overpowering sometimes, aren't they? Like, "I'm gonna need to hug my computer now, kthnx."

I bought some claritin at the store tonight, but OY. I had allergy shots as a child! Once a week! Can't they just make those shots last forever? Seriously.

My brother was just flippin' cute as shit, wasn't he? Ha. I mean, REALLY. While looking through the photos, I came across one of him with this toy lawnmower that blew bubbles, & I started laughing so hard because I remembered how he would utterly LOSE IT whenever the bubbles came out. Full on gigglefest every time. SO. CUTE.

Thank you! :)

Oh, man, you poor Europeans. Hee. When they show it there, do they air it with subtitles or dubbed?
