Hot Tamale Train, All Aboard!

As promised, here's Season 3. At this rate, it won't take me long to finish the series at all.
Only one audition made it in this time, but it's a memorable one:
Oh, Anya. I miss you with your brown hair.
ETA: I can't believe I almost forgot Bryan Gaynor. He didn't make it to the top 20, but he gave an incredible audition that year.
And now, the performances:
Sabra went on to win that year, and it was pieces like this (and a later one with Neil) that helped her get there.
One word: HOT. Also, props to the SYTYCD family dynasty -- that's Benji's little sister. She made it to the final 4 (along with Danny).
I love how the lights played such a role in this one, along with the music.
Apologies in advance to
keenai for all the Lauren up in here. Ha.
Emmy-licious.
Mannequins have never been so much fun. Or maybe they have; I don't know your business. (Um, that went to a dirty place.)
I miss you, Wade Robson. Also: you're not Asian, Lauren. Shut up.
I think this may end up the only disco pick you'll see here.
I remember Kameron bugged me, but I liked this one. Kinda simple, but it stayed in my mind.
Heidi & Benji (from Season 2) came back to choreograph this performance, hence the awesomeness.
Another simple, yet enjoyable one.
Stop making me verklempt, Mia Michaels!
Danny's pirouettes = amazeballs. This was one of my top faves of the season.
And here we see why Sabra won. I mean, yes, other things too, but this one got the show another Emmy nom, IIRC.
Picked for the dandy costumes & hand-clapping alone.
I know the judges poured haterade all over this one, but I don't even care. I love it.
And, finally, my favorite group numbers of the season:
This is still possibly my favorite group number of any season. I was only half-watching the first time I saw it, so it didn't make a huge impression, but after rewatching it later I fell in love.
This aired during the finale as a special dealio, choreographed by Wade, so it doesn't count as a normal group number, but it is a group! Dancing! Doing a number! Heh. So, there.
Next up, Season 4. Coming soon to a computer near you. (that was cheesy)

Date: 2011-07-30 05:45 am (UTC)Disco is just always so corny feeling. If they're gonna be retro & cheesy, I'd like to see them do an early '90s hip hop routine & go all out with it. Roger Rabbit, bitches!
I'll post more, don't worry. Or maybe you should worry. Heh.
