Yeah, so this is really random, but I feel a rant coming on, so I thought I'd share. Heh. I know I've been guilty of this same thing in my day, but I'm tired of the double standard of it being fine and dandy to insult and make fun of skinny women, but not the opposite. And just all the comments that are made in general. "Why doesn't she eat something", "she's too skinny", etc. You know, if someone goes around saying "She's too fat" then people get all in a huff, but not when the tables are turned. It's bullshit.

Because I'm a gossip whore, I went to the MTV message boards, to see what [livejournal.com profile] miiiike had been saying was there (more Melissa and Julie drama), and there were like all these messages and comments on her weight and size. How she's apparently a "midget" (yeah, that person can fuck right off, because I know Melissa's no shorter than me), with a giant head and tiny "eight year old boy" body (even though she has breasts, apparently she's a boy. You know, these are the people that make me feel bad about my body, and tell me I look like a little kid. They can all suck my cock), and how she's probably "messed up in the head enough to be bulimic." Oh, and she got a rib removed, then went on the Atkins Diet. Give me a fucking break. You know, people, there are other ways to drop ten pounds than going on the Atkins diet, or being bulimic. Fucking morons.

It's just not fair. You know, even if someone is thin enough to not be at their best health, neither is being 250 pounds, but making fun of them isn't PC. Whatever. This society isn't happy unless you're utterly perfect, and even if you are, people will probably still have shit to say about you. People suck.

And I'm bleeding. Hee. Okay, so that gives you an idea why I'm so bitchy. I'm in a "Fuck everyone!" mood. [livejournal.com profile] jasminelily suggested promising myself a nice, hot bath when I got home, though, and it does make the evening sound better. I'm sometimes too lazy feeling when I get home to go up and run one, though, but I think I just might. That, or make time to get a milkshake at Baskin 'n Robbins at the mall on my lunch (then put it in the fridge in the breakroom), so I can have it when I get home. I like having little rewards at the end of a bad night. I'm sure my Mom would be happy to see me with a milkshake too, considering she's all about how I'm "too skinny" now. Heh, speaking of the double standard. I'm finally almost satisfied with my weight, so of course now people have to criticize it, and tell me to gain weight, so I can be unhappy. Yeah, NO THANKS.

It's a double standard, I know. I can understand people seeing someone who's *really* underweight and saying "that's unhealthy", as I can people who say the same about morbidly obese people. Insulting people, though, is just dumb. I remember when I was little -- I could eat and eat and eat, and I was *still* just skin and bones. (Sadly, that's not the case now. Heh.) A few people have seen me recently, though, and gone "wow, you've lost weight!" like it's a good thing. Firstly: Huh? I haven't lost any weight. I may have lost muscle mass (in fact, I *know* I have), but I've made up for that by putting on some fat. Maybe they're just seeing the bags under my eyes from my lack of sleep, and associating that with being thinner. I don't know. Still, though -- not skinnier. Secondly: Huh? (Again.) The way they say it is as if it's a compliment, as if I'd been majorly overweight and dropped 50 kilos. Muh? I've never been overweight. A little underweight when I was younger, and about the "right" weight now. Honestly, I don't know where these people are seeing it.

Feh. People are fickle. There's no pleasing them.

Oh yeah. I'm fat, and it drives me mad when people insult skinny people, or say stupid things like "Real women have curves". No, real women have two X chromosomes, you grrr face.

Remember when you talked about the stupidness of the "Women" section being titled that way? I went shopping at Myers (a big department store). They've renamed the Big Is Beautiful (Ugh) section B.I.B., just so it doesn't have the words "Big" in the title. The sizes are all different too. I'm sorry, but people are not stupid. There is no way you can delude yourself into thinking you're not fat. I know I'm a size 16/18, and I'm not going to fall for "Wow! I'm only a size small in the B.I.B section. I'm nopt fat at all!". Their other fat section is called Taking Shape, which sounds even sillier.

I don't understand this. Do they name their petite section "Short is Super"? Do they have pithy slogans like "Real women are shorter than men?". I don't think so. It's just the "Under 5'4" section or something.

Although...nobody pays attention to being PC. I've heard and seen so many rude things towards fat people. People do come out and say it (or they whisper and giggle). People can be so cruel and horrible.

Ha! For the record, I adore "Short is Super." That is just wonderfully bad. And "Real women are shorter than men"? Hee!

And yeah, people are just amazingly cruel, sometimes.
