Excuse me while I ramble about Bones for a minute, will you?:

I've never been more glad to be staying away from major spoilers than I am right now, based on the level of ZOMG!-ness that I seem to be sensing in the fandom at the moment. Then again, Bones fans tend to be just a little dramatic. Hee. (said with love! But SERIOUSLY) So if any of you know the details of whatever it is David Boreanaz said in that article that's floating around, do not even *think* of spilling the beans to me (even to tell me whether the fan response is more positive or negative, because I don't even really know that. I just know there's some huge reactions going on & people are basically like hyperventilating in both directions, heh) or I will stab you in the neck, Kara Thrace-style.

However, that being said, I am crazy-excited for the 100th episode based on the spoiler-free review I read from one blogger who'd seen it already and who said that watching it felt like "opening up your Christmas presents" as a kid (it was a really glowing review, for real. So if it ends up just being mediocre or even bad, I'm going to be frakking pissed. Haha). So whatever it is that DB said that seems to have everyone flipping out, I don't even want to know. Because in my experience whatever the cast of that show says--whether it's positive *or* negative--it usually just gets the fans riled up for nothing and ends up disappointing people in the end. So I'll stick with staying mostly in the dark except for mild spoilers like peeks at episode stills & such, and I think I'll be a happier & less stressed fan for it. No failnale for me this year, yo! You're not gonna trick me two years in a row, Hart!

Speaking of episode stills though, remember the episode I mentioned that'll be coming up in two weeks, directly after the 100th? And what I predicted would (and wanted to see) happen? Yeah, well, a few episode stills for that episode came out today and I can't resist sharing two of them now so I can show off my mad psychic skillz. And of course to flail, because AHHHHH. YES. Heh.

(P.S. obvious spoiler warning is obvious: only click this cut if you don't mind being mildly spoiled for the general plotline of this episode)

EXCUSE ME, HART HANSON. I BELIEVE I MADE YOU A PROMISE. IS THAT OR IS THAT NOT BOOTH & BRENNAN SLOW-DANCING? AND IS THAT NOT A MIRROR-BALL ABOVE THEIR HEADS? BECAUSE I DO THINK BOTH OF THOSE THINGS APPEAR TO BE CORRECT, AND IF THAT'S TRUE THEN I AM A WOMAN OF MY WORD. *puts on lipstick & puckers up*

. . .WAIT. HH, I KNOW YOUR TRICKS. SO YOU'RE GONNA HAVE TO WAIT FOR THAT KISS UNTIL YOU ACTUALLY SHOW THEM DANCING. SO LISTEN UP & LISTEN UP GOOD: YOU TRY TO BAIT-AND-SWITCH ME AT THE LAST MINUTE WITH ANOTHER "GUY-HUG" UNDER THAT MIRROR-BALL & YOU WILL BE GETTIN' ABSOLUTELY NO SWEET KISSY-ACTION FROM THIS HERE FINE PIECE OF ASS. BUT IF YOU GIVE ME THE CHEESY ADORABLE SLOW DANCING I ASKED FOR, *ESPECIALLY* IF BRENNAN MAKES THAT SWEET MELANCHOLY EXPRESSION THAT SHE'S GOT IN THAT PICTURE, THEN WE WILL NOT ONLY HAVE OUR KISSYTIMES BUT WE CAN ALSO HOLD HANDS & SKIP THROUGH FIELDS OF HAPPY DAISIES AFTERWARD. UNLESS OF COURSE YOU SHOW THEM HAVING KISSED ALREADY WHEN THEY FIRST MET IN THE 100TH EPISODE OR SOME OTHER JACKED-UP SHIT, BECAUSE THEN I WILL CUT YOUR FUCKIN' ASS WITHOUT MERCY, TRUST. (seriously, 100th ep promos, you are scaring me to death with your almost-kisses. I am absolutely cool with the idea that they *almost* kissed back then, because really, they came about *thisclose* to straight-up making out in the pilot, let's be real--hello, SHOOTING RANGE SCENE, MUCH?--but I don't buy them actually kissing back then at all. I think they came close & never did it. It's way too retconny to change that now. SO DON'T GO THERE HART. DON'T EVEN. OR I WILL HURT YOU.)

Okay, I'm done with the capslock now. Ha. I'm just a bit excited about this show returning to my tv at the moment, okay? Hey, I warned you things were gonna get flaily 'round here so don't act like you're surprised.

For the record though, as much as I'm excited for Bones to be returning in general, I'm not all that revved up for tomorrow night's episode by itself really. It doesn't sound like it's anything all that amazing, certainly not compared to the 100th episode next week at least, or the fanfic-y fun coming up the week after. But still, I'm totally happy to have my little show back overall. It's not a perfect show anymore, and I'm the first to admit it was at its absolute best in its first two seasons, but I still love it, it entertains the hell out of me, and I miss my B/B & squints, man. After two months with it being gone, I'm more than ready to see it come back. Afterall, it's been way too long since I've been able to debate ED's fake non-existent pregnancy with [livejournal.com profile] keenai or perv out over Brennan's cleavage or flail over Bones & Booth or laugh at Cam. So yes, WELCOME BACK, SHOW. (Still, to those of you on my flist who are in that "I'm excited but scared at the same time" place with the show in regards to where the season is going? I totally feel you. I'm kinda right there with you guys, honestly. But something about the 5th season has just made me lighten up about the show so much more, I don't know (except when I'm threatening Hart Hanson like I did above, haha. But I'm mostly pretty chill about it lately!). I just want to see where it goes & hope for the best. I guess we'll just have to wait & see, right?)

Thank you for your time, fangirls. We will now return you to your regularly scheduled non-Bones rambling.

. . .Except I didn't really have much else to write about tonight. Heh. I did want to say though that at least my head didn't hurt as bad today as it did the rest of the week! So that's great. Of course that's totally relative, because it still hurts some, it's just that it wasn't as bad all day as it had been yesterday or Monday. But hey, every bit of improvement counts. My eyes are still super sensitive & hurt-y though. But I'm hoping that goes away with the migraine, and considering the migraine is still lingering there's a good chance it will. I just hope it's not some weird side effect from the Topamax though, because I asked my coworker who's taking it if she'd had any weird eye-stuff and she was like, "everything's bright! Also, I'm tingly now like you. Thanks for jinxing me." and I was like, "crap." Heh. We're totally bonding over our side effects though, ha. WEIRDEST DRUG EVER. But even if it is a side effect it still might go away anyway, because side effects can fade too. Which brings me to a question I have: [livejournal.com profile] juliedarling, if you're reading this, can you let me know if you've experienced any eye-related side effects while taking it, and whether any of the side effects you have experienced in general have diminished over time?

(as a totally random aside, and I do mean random: The song on my playlist just changed from "Family Affair" to "No More Drama" as I was writing this, and I'd just like to take a moment to point out how perfectly this song speaks to my life at this point in time. SING IT FOR ME, MARY.)

Anyway, now that I'm done rambling about Bones & random health stuff that probably only 2% of my flist gives a crap about, I'm gonna wrap this up with a Vid of the Day. I'm in the mood for a cracky vid and I honestly can't believe I haven't rec'd this vid here yet before (seriously, WTF) because it's full of win, especially when you consider that most of it is shot-for-shot perfectly edited to match the original music vid. Frakkin' brilliant. Plus, c'mon, even aside from that, it's the Beastie Boys. And BSG. Together. What more could you ask for? So yes, watch it immediately & then go show some love to its creator [livejournal.com profile] katamarann at her journal by leaving her a comment.

Hi! Sorry; I have been meaning to respond to your other side effects post, but I have a deadline tomorrow and so I have been sidetracked trying to meet that. Anyway, to answer your first question, no, I never had any vision side effects, and you are supposed to tell your doctor immediately if you have those! The eye side effects are very serious! My doctor very sternly cautioned me to tell her immediately if I had any vision side effects! So I would immediately call your doctor and talk to him/her about that, if you think your vision side effects are Topamax and aren't related to a specific in-progress migraine you're having.

To answer your second question, I think that for the most part, my side effects went away within a few weeks of adjustment to full dosage (i.e., after I stair-stepped up to 100 mg, which was my original prescription). Things like the flat pop and general feeling of weirdness disappeared, etc. I still will occasionally misplace words and have occasional toe tinglies, etc., but these are very mild and pretty rare, and might not even be the Topamax. (Like I said, I can place blame sometimes; I have been known to blame mysterious stomach ailments on the Topamax, even though I have no evidence to corroborate this, just because, as you said, weirdest drug ever, and it freaks me out that it is simultaneously used to treat, like, epilepsy, bipolarism, PTSD, cocaine dependence, OCD, and a bunch of other stuff I don't have, in addition to migraines; HOW DOES MY BRAIN KNOW HOW TO ONLY TREAT WHAT I DO HAVE?).

I would also like to note that while I get the annoying side effects like misplaced words and flat pop, I have never once gotten the alleged weight loss side effect. THANKS, TOPAMAX. ;)

Oh, no worries. Thanks for taking the time to comment even more so in that case then! I haven't actually had any vision changes though (at least not more than usual. I have allergies & sometimes randomly get a blurry-eyed moment & then it clears), just eye pain & light sensitivity. Do you think it could still be related to the Topamax? I should probably still mention it to the doctor anyway, huh? Or maybe just monitor it myself & let her know if it gets worse or doesn't go away if the headache improves?

That's a relief to hear the side effects improved for you though, especially the feeling of weirdness. It's very disconcerting for me so I'm hoping it goes away for me too, especially since I'm only at half what's the "normal" dose for others right now.

I'm hoping the weight loss side effect does kick in though, ha. Bring on that one!

I am honestly concerned about your eye pain and would mention it to your doctor. Even on the official Topamax website, they say, "Call your doctor immediately if you have any decrease in vision or eye pain. These problems can lead to blindness if not treated right away." Like I said, that was the one thing that both my doctor and my brother-in-law (who is a GP) told me to watch out for and report immediately if I experienced. Not to alarm you; I'd just mention it to your doctor.

Yeah, I think you're right. I don't usually get this much eye-pain to this degree with migraines for this long. It doesn't mean it's the Topamax, but it does mean it's a good idea to at least double-check it. I sent an email to my doctor just now to get her feedback on it. I figure if anything I can even go in to my eyedoctor since that doesn't cost too much. I mean, from what I'm seeing it says if you're having a problem it's because it's causing pressure on the eye like glaucoma, right? That's probably something the eye-doctor could see?

I really, really hope it's not the Topamax though, dude. Because that would mean I couldn't take it, right? I would be freaking heartbroken because I honestly wouldn't know what else to try for my migraines at this point. Ugh, please let the eye-pain be unrelated.

P.S. Oh, and I keep forgetting to mention, another side effect to be careful of is please to be careful with drinking the alcohol! The Topamax totally screws up your tolerance. I forgot this when I did my readjustment from 100 to 150 mg, and I went out with my friends and had like one Cosmo and was totally drunk, and they were like OMG WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU. So bewares.

Oh man, thank you! Ha. That kinda doesn't surprise me though, at least not when you're first adjusting to a new dose anyway. But it's good to know that it could still frak with your tolerance even once you've adjusted. I'm about two inches tall too, so I have a low tolerance anyway. Now with this drug I'd probably have one drink & be swingin' from the rafters. Par-tay!

I actually have NO IDEA what the Bones spoilers are. My entry about not loving Bones anymore and feeling free to defriend me was due to the awful treatment I've been getting from some so called "friends", though I guess my timing made it seem like it was from the article!

Oh sweetie, that wasn't about you at all, don't worry. I'm sorry you're getting flak from your friends though. I was just feeling like talking about my own emotions regarding the show at the moment, which are equal parts excited & nervous, but with mostly a desire to just hope for the best (I'm in the mood to be positive about tv right now & just have fun with it, you know?).

My subject heading is in response to some of the bitter-ass fans over at the Bones comms though who totally hang out for years on end to do nothing but hate on the show, heh. 'Cause you know there are some who do that. It's like, seriously, JUST MOVE ON WITH YOUR LIVES, YOU ARE KILLING MY BUZZ.

But you are TOTALLY cool with me, and I am have no prob with you not liking the show anymore. :-) We can still bond over our mutual love of XF!

As someone who is totally a spoiler whore, I can't wait to see your reaction to the 100th episode. LOL.

I am so excited about the dancing. It looks adorable and Brennan is so completely in love with him! I know.

It use to bug me when people would say Emily was pregnant. She gained some weight because she broke her toe in the beginning of the season. It's probably why Brennan didn't fight back against the doctor in Harbingers too. LOL. I loved how her boobs looked though.

Oh God, you're making this hard on me. Heh. But I will stay strong!

RIGHT? For so long it was all about Booth's puppylove face when looking at her, but this season (and parts of last season too, to be fair) Brennan has been *killing my ass* with her expressions. It's like, BOOTH, DAMN YOU, DON'T YOU SEE HOW SHE'S LOOKING AT YOU? She is so transparent! Ah, my shipper heart can't taaaaaake iiiiiiit.

Re: ED's fake!pregnancy, I love her little tummy! I want to lick it. Hee. Seriously though, I think she's fucking scrumptious. Skinny, thick, I don't care, she's delectable either way. Although I love her with a little extra weight on her because HOLY SHIT THE BEWBIES. *is shallow*

That's a really good point about the scene in Harbingers! I didn't actually even know about the toe, poor thing. And I wondered about why they didn't have her kick some ass too, and I know some people thought it was OOC, as much as everyone loved the shippyness that followed it, so that's good to know.

Stay strong! I wish I could be as strong as you but I can't resist the spoilers.

I wish Booth would grow a pair. Seriously! It's not surprising to me that everyone thinks he is gay.

Yeah she broke her toe getting out of the bath tub at the end of August. A lot of people were saying it was OOC but I guess they didn't know about that. The eye patch she wore in the Circus episode was because she hit her eye swinging around her necklace. LOL. I love what a big Klutz she is.

I used to be that way with spoilers too, and I still am to a degree--which is why I still let myself do things like peek at episode stills & check out their descriptions & watch the promos (there are some spoiler-phobes who don't even do that!), plus I'm not such a spoiler-phobe that I stay away from spoilers for all shows, it just depends--but my experiences last season compared to my friends who stayed spoiler-free convinced me to try it their way this season, and now I'm committed to keep it going. With Bones you can usually let yourself get a little spoiled when the season first starts, but once you hit the middle, it's best to stay the hell away, because shit gets intense. Heh.

I wish Booth would grow a pair. Seriously! It's not surprising to me that everyone thinks he is gay

Haha. Oh, Booth. Poor thing is just so scurred.

I knew about the eye patch, hee. I thought it was cute! I actually squeed out loud when I saw her in that costume in the promos, trufax. Haha. I was probably more excited about her in that outfit than I was the whole episode.

This is the most random comment ever (in that it's like hours after my last one), but I came back to my journal to reply to someone else's comment from another entry & remembered something else I should've said to this one too. Hee. My brain works in mysterious ways, okay? Anyway, so, my point! Another reason I think people would talk about her being pregnant was because of how the show was dressing her, to be fair. I mean, I know that's why my friend would say it at least. All of a sudden they were constantly putting her in all these coats and shirts/dresses that would sort of flow out with empire hemlines and shit, and it was like, okay, what's up. Even I started getting paranoid for a second.

Ok, now you've got me intrigued about these major spoilers that I hadn't heard anything about before now! But I will be good and resist and not open myself up to disappointment by having too high expectations!

I still looked at the picture though. Oh my god, those two are so cute together! And I think I love her dress (I say think just in case I change my mind once I get a proper look at it!)

Also, I totally agree with you about them not kissing in the 100th episode. To be honest when I first heard that we'd be seeing how they met I was a bit wary of the whole idea because of the potential for messing up things we've already seen or changing their meaning. But I'm putting my faith in HH to do this right. Don't let me down, Hart!

Word, we will be the co-captains of Team "Just Say No To Disappointed Expectations." Best team ever.

They are so cute they kinda make me want to puke. But in a great way.

But I'm putting my faith in HH

Oh God, don't go saying that! You're going to jinx us all! Haha. But seriously, I'm trying to have faith too. They really have been slowly getting better again this season in my opinion, and as long as they don't try to do anything huge--and just try to make it a fun, quirky look at their first meetup--then it could be a really great episode. I don't think they'll be stupid enough to have their first kiss happen back then. Afterall, note that Booth says "it's not what you think!" in the promos *right* after the almost-kiss scene. Fox didn't edit the promos that way for nothin'. I notice stuff like that.

Oooh, do we get hats? We should get hats.

And once again I agree with everything you've just said about the 100th episode. Fun, quirky and nothing huge. =D I also agree about the promos. That was one of the things that alleviated my wariness about the whole thing.

Just so you know, I'm not reading your post about the latest Bones episode because I'm being good and not spoiling myself but I may come back and comment on it next week. Of course by then you'll be done with it and all about the next new episode.

Yeah, UK. We've just had The Devil in the Details so we're one episode behind you again.

When the season started back in September we got the new episodes one week after the US but after the Christmas hiatus we had to wait until March for it to return. At the time I was very annoyed but now I see it was so we wouldn't have another break in the run of the series.

And thank you. I'm looking forward to having someone to flail with!

Aw, that's kinda cute! It's like they're trying to keep the whole fandom sort of together! Hee. Well, to a degree anyway. I know there's still a few countries really behind us. But at least the UK, Canada, and America are all mostly in line with one another. The UK and America can both join up and glare at Canada together though for the fact that they get new eps the earliest. Heh. *shakes fist at them*

I remember I went off on a big ole rant in my lj after watching that ep because they annoyed me with their portrayal of mental hospitals. Heh. But yes, there will be much flail! Unless of course Hart totally drops the ball on the 100th ep, and then there might be blood. But I'm already planning on trying to look at it as ~cracky AU fanfic~ to be handwaved away if it's full of nonsense & continuity fail, so hopefully I can recover from any possible rage & quickly return to the flail if that does in fact happen. In other words, I've got my contingency plan in motion. Hee.

From: [identity profile] crystalcazzie.livejournal.com
Probably because they know if they don't keep the us all (nearly) together we're going to resort to illegal methods to see the episodes because we don't want to wait! That's the problem with fandom when you're in a country that has to wait ages for episodes. You either can't join in with internet discussions or you have to resign yourself to being spoiled. I found this a lot with message boards. I thought I would be safe by not going into the actual episode discussion threads but once an ep had aired in America it was considered fair game to talk about everywhere. Even the Other Stuff areas that had nothing to do with the show weren't safe because people would use images for their icons and quotes for their signatures.

Of course for a lot of people even a week is too long, but it's a vast improvement on ye olde days when we had to wait months and months for the episodes!

Regarding Devil in the Details, I wasn't overly impressed with that either. And I was very annoyed by Booth's comment about padded rooms and strait jackets and Cam's assumption that Vaziri thinks they're the Great Satan. I was all "WTF Cam? You're losing all of your awesome points here!"

Your contingency plan sounds very sensible. Clearly you are very wise!

because people would use images for their icons and quotes for their signatures

Yeah, I've probably done that sort of thing a million times without even thinking about it. Heh. I forget about other countries and what eps have aired there, or even that it's a show people care about outside America. It's like, "oh la de da, here in America with my little Bones show, let's make some icons!. . .oh wait, there's people in England watching this too? Cool, they'll like the icons as well then, hopefully. . .oh, they aren't to this episode yet? Well, shit. Damn you, Europe!"

Of course for a lot of people even a week is too long

I'd be going crazypants if I were you, hee. As it is, waiting a day to watch an ep after my Canadian friends are all doing cartwheels up & down the block on my friends page every week tries my willpower like nothing else.

And I was very annoyed by Booth's comment about padded rooms and strait jackets

THIS. If I remember correctly, I think that's the line that really got me going. I'm pretty sure in my recap I told him to fuck off. Ha. And also a big word to Cam. Everyone was a little douchey in that episode. Don't worry though, without spoiling you on anything, I'll just say that I loved this week's episode & fell in love with everyone all over again.

Yep, contingency plan is a go. I LOVE THIS SHOW & NO SHITTY EPISODE IS GOING TO RUIN THAT FOR ME. *plans resistance now*

(can you tell I've been exposed to some Debbie Downers over the last couple days who are making me even more scared about it? Ahhhhh)
