What's he gonna win when he wins?

1. Attn:
amilyn,

I hope you had a good day!
2. It's also my stepbrother's birthday, i.e. the one I haven't seen since I was eleven (Joe's son). I wonder how he ended up.
3. So far,
fourth_rose is the only one who replied to the photo meme; I suppose that's what I get for regularly taking pictures of everything anyway, heh. There's probably not much left to be curious about!
Here's what she wanted to see: "do you have a preferred place for writing?"

I'm boring, I know. I don't have a laptop though, so it's not like I can pick up my computer & take it to bed with me. Heh. I don't like writing on laptops anyway though. I prefer sitting at a desk when I type.
That's my living room, btw, and you can see I also have my notebook there, since I often outline/brainstorm things on paper first (for fics & big entries anyway, like picspams & recaps, etc). I usually sit at my desk for that as well, but I also sometimes sit on my couch:
…which is across from my TV (natch):

I really need to find something to hang on the wall above my TV. It tooks so empty.
Anyway.
I feel I should add, however, that I also like to come up with ideas & think things over while walking. I did that a lot with my first two fics, for instance (of course I also daydreamed all day at work, heh. That job was so freaking mindless). I've been meaning to get back to that for a while; I just have to overcome the lack of motivation/physical energy that depression brings.
When I do walk, it's generally in one of the following two places:

(the trails by my apartment)

(Forest Park)
I go to the park near my place the most, but I LOVE Forest Park. It's the largest urban park in the nation & has over 70 miles of trails. It's pretty much the perfect escape. You don't even need a car to get there from downtown. It's like a 5 minute bus ride, if even.
4. I dreamt last night about two monkeys (well, chimps, really) departing a commercial airplane together--holding hands--and meeting up with three astronauts at the gate. What the frak?
5. Remember how I said I missed chicks with guitars? Problem solved. I am in love with this woman, I swear. (I think this one might be my favorite, currently, but that's almost an impossible thing to decide).
Still listening to this song by Holly Miranda a lot as well.
It's like a one-two punch of awesome.
That's it for now. I don't really have anything else I want to talk about, though I feel like this entry was boring. Oh, well. Here's an entertaining Vid of the Day to make up for it (P.S. It's pronounced "OreGEN", Carrie. Not "Oregone." Tsk tsk. Still love you though)

Date: 2011-04-28 04:03 pm (UTC)Same here! I like how un-cluttered your desk is - desks with towering piles of paper and tons of other stuff drive me crazy ;)
I also like to come up with ideas & think things over while walking
That, too, seems very familiar - long train rides work too for me, but walks are probably best to just let the mind wander. Your favorite spot looks lovely, and I particularly like the last pic. Thanks for sharing these! :)

Date: 2011-04-29 04:11 am (UTC)Long train rides are great for thinking/relaxing. I used to ride the WES commuter rail to & from work every day, and I loved it. Plushy, reclinable seats!
And thanks. :) The Forest Park pic came from this entry (http://rachg82.livejournal.com/270802.html#cutid1) & the first one came from this one (http://rachg82.livejournal.com/258392.html#cutid1) (in case you want to see the rest for some reason). Both are really making me want to start walking more again. I need some exercise/tree-huggin' time.

Date: 2011-04-29 04:14 am (UTC)I'd like to see your kitchen and inside your fridge.
Oh, noes. My fridge is so embarassingly empty. Haha. I'll post pics in my next entry though, hee. At least I've recently done my dishes.

Date: 2011-04-29 12:28 pm (UTC)I'd like to see the street you live on, and the places that you shop

Date: 2011-04-29 03:46 pm (UTC)When you say "shop" do you mean for groceries or for clothes?

Date: 2011-04-29 11:33 pm (UTC)You've inspired me, and I'm going to take some pictures this weekend of where I live.

Date: 2011-05-06 04:58 pm (UTC)Also, it's totally sad that the donut shop would totally be a place to visit when I eventually visit there. I mean, sure, visit Rach and Nicole. But DONUTS. *drools*

Date: 2011-05-08 03:38 pm (UTC)Ha, it's not sad! If you came to visit me, I would insist we go there. It's right by Saturday Market, too, and only a short walk from Powell's. So it just makes SENSE to go there if you're doing the tourist thing downtown. At least that's what I tell my hips while shoving the concoction into my mouth, anyway.
