1. Just made a rice protein smoothie with those blueberries I bought at the Farmers Market, plus added rasberries, bananas, honey, & a combo of rice & almond milk. It was pretty much the biggity biggity bomb. Just so y'all know.
2. It's about time for an icon meme, methinks. Taken from
torigates:

Adama/Roslin Oath kiss - Guh, this scene. The Oath is one of my favorite BSG eps (mutiny arc = badassery. Or, as I put it during my initial capslockalicious recap/picspam, an "ass-kicking convention." Hee), and I was basically levitating with the flail during this moment. Haha. Like a helicopter. Between the long looks, the making out, the soft embrace, and the WHOAZOMG staring from everyone else (Baltar! Lee! Kara! Tigh! Hahaha), it's just like the best shit ever.
reading glasses of rage - I swiped this one from
icedteainthebag (who in turn got it from
nicole_anell), and it makes me laugh every time I see it. Something about the juxtaposition between the nerdyness of her old lady reading glasses & the fierceness of her HBIC ~powahz~ makes it priceless for me. Like most Roslin fans, I also have a particular affection for pissedoff!Laura, so there's that too.
mulder/scully holding hands - Ah, the glory days of fandom. I created this one a while back, and I'm still pretty fond of it. The scene in this icon comes from the ending of the first film, which I watched something like five billion times as a teenager. (Actually, scratch that -- more like a zillion.) I love the way they literally walk off into the horizon together here, their bodies instinctually leaning toward one another (meeting each other halfway, as always). Also: Scully's suit/skirt is BANGIN', can I just say. Those curves are like, OH HAI THERE. She really was just ridic levels of hot throughout that whole movie, srsly. I mean, the heels alone. My God.
Booth/Bones holy spirit - This one always makes me think of the icon I was going to make for Amanda/Clarice on Caprica (with a caption of "Cockblocked by God"). Haha. I love that whole scene--how Booth reverts to his Good Catholic Boy ways, how Brennan gets all sentimental over the song & reaches for him, how bittersweet the whole thing is, just all of it. And of course y'all know Bones is my Fanfic Show, and what's more fanficcy than slow dancing under a mirror ball at a high school reunion? I mean, honestly.
abed is my homeboy - The keyword choice here should be pretty self-explanatory. Abed = Jesus (in that episode anyway, hee) + the well-known expression "Jesus is my homeboy" + the fact that Abed already IS my homeboy (trufax), aaaand yeah. That's pretty much it. I just love him. All day. Up & down the block. Times 1,000.
If any of you would like to play, just let me know in the comments. I'll pick five of your icons, then you post about them/their keywords in your journal. Instant time-wasting, voila.
3. Since tomorrow is Labor Day, I won't be working. As for today, I worked 6 am - 1 pm instead of the normal 6:35 am - 5:05 pm Sunday shift I would've had. It's amazing how short a seven-hour day feels when you're getting used to ten. Unfortunately, I won't get holiday pay since I don't qualify yet, but I'll be working a full day on Tuesday & a half-day on Wednesday to make up for it. I'll even get something like two hours of overtime pay, technically. I'll probably exhaust myself in the process, but whatevs. I really need money. Currently, I have something like thirty-odd dollars to last me the next two weeks. GOOD TIMES.
4. Speaking of work, behold my favorite customer quote of the day (re: the increasing absence of pay phones on the streets due to everyone getting cell phones): "I mean, where's Superman gonna change his clothes?"
Also, gotta love the 90 year old woman I helped get signed up today, who, when asked if she had an email address, was like, "What's that?" Cue me answering, "Email? You know, on the internet?" And her shouting (they always shout, haha), "Internet?! What?" And me again, like: "Um, internet…like on a computer?" And then her final response of, "OH, I DON'T HAVE ONE OF THOSE. I'M LUCKY IF I CAN FIGURE OUT MY TV, HONEY." Hee!
FYI: I heard yesterday that the oldest customer we have is 106. Apparently he's pretty with it, too. *106* (it bears repeating). I can't even. He would've been three when the Model T came out. And he has a cell phone before I do. Haha.
5. A lot of my flist has been doing this, most recently
