rachg82: (frak this shit)
I have a special spammy treat for you guys tonight. My friend [livejournal.com profile] lytab5 has been doing her own Hot 25 list (based on afterellen.com's annual Hot 100), and seeing as there are few things I love more than staring at pretty pictures of pretty women, I decided to be a copycat & make one too. Since I also enjoy being difficult, however, I'm making it a Hot 26--for one, because it's my favorite number (what? Hee), and two, because I'm a cheating cheater. I may or may not have also squeezed in two or three women in the place of one for a couple of the numbers. WHAT. They're connected!

I could've done a bigger list, too, but even I hold myself to limits here SOMETIMES. Heh.

…that being said, my limits are kinda weak when faced with OMGGORGEOUSWOMEN, so I'm totes providing two pictures for each hottie. Aaand I'm posting all 26(-ish, haha) winnahs right now, all in one go. It'll be a ~smorgasbord of sexy~.

P.S. Some of these pics approach NSFW, as a heads-up. God bless photographers.

rachg82's Hot 26…ish )

Hope you guys enjoyed! If you want to make your own Hot 25 (or 26, hee) list, please do. It'd be fun to see everyone's picks.

For my Vid of the Day, let's do an Arrested Development one (by saxmankk) since I'm rewatching season 1 right now on teh interwebz (blessed Hulu) & thus spent most of last night giggling like a fool. Then I checked to see if there was any news about a possible movie & watched recent interviews on YouTube with the creator/cast confirming everyone's on board now & A SCRIPT IS CURRENTLY BEING WRITTEN. I don't want to get too excited before it's actually green-lit, BUT: STEVE HOLT!

All right peoples, I figured it was about time I got this ball rollin'. I'm planning my Shipper Showdown for this weekend, and I need your feedback so we can add to the epicness.

You guys know what's cute? My nephew. Who randomly calls me on the phone now, and who happened to call me tonight to tell me he found a new Cattie (Cattie #1 sadly got squished a few days ago. I know, awww. Let's all have a moment of silence for Cattie! Heh). And who--when I asked him what he learned in school today--replied "you don't really learn anything in 1st grade. You just do the same thing everyday! Math!" Heeeee. I was like "Well, are you learning anything new about math that you didn't know before?" And I couldn't hear everything he said to that unfortunately, but I know it included a rant about "counting" and "not having enough hands". Haha. *squishes him*

Also, you guys know how I went over to carve pumpkins with him this weekend, right? So, at one point we had a question about pumpkins that we didn't know the answer to, and I was like "we'll look it up later." And Jayden's reply? "Yeah, pumpkins.com!" Hahaha. I love six year olds!

And in other nephew/niece-related news, Isabella is no longer a shorty (she's apparently considered tall for her age now! And Jayden's tall too. Man, if this keeps up, there'll be no one to carry on the Oompa Loompa family legacy/curse! Unless I have kids that is. Then I'm sure it'll be bound to carry on. Heh. Sorry, theoretical offspring!). She's also talking up a storm, btw. She knows about a million words now, and babbles pretty much non-stop. IT IS ADORABLE.

Ooh, and one extra cute tidbit before I change subjects: I drew a Halloween picture for Jay while I was there, and the entire time I was doing it Isabella kept grabbing oil pastels & crayons out of his box and handing them to me. Like, over and over to the point where they were falling off my sheet of paper. Ha. It was so cute! I love it when babies are in that stage where they're just starting to *get* things, you know? It always comes up in unexpected ways, like "What are you doing? OH. Okay. When did you learn to do that?!"

Moving on, I've got more tv-rambling for you all. Although it's more like micro-rambling really (for me anyway. i.e. it's probably closer to "full-on rambling" for normal people, ha), as the episodes I watched for this entry didn't really bring out Super Verbose Rach to quite the degree you're all probably used to by now.

On today's plate we've got:

Gossip Girl )
Glee )
So You Think You Can Dance )
Dollhouse )
Amazing Race )
rachg82: (Morning After)
So, my day started out lame because I woke up sick this morning (I actually started feeling yucky over the weekend, so today was the tail-end of it) and had to miss work. I was feeling much better by this evening though, luckily. Hopefully I don't get myself into trouble for missing though. *is nervous* I think I've been better about attendance lately (or at least I've been told so anyway), so fingers crossed this doesn't screw me up.

Anyway though, now that I'm no longer lying on my couch in a curled-up ball cursing my stomach (it's only getting a mild look of reproach now, heh), I can get back to what I do best: wasting time on the ole interwebz. Hallelujah!

And since I have the time I thought I'd post some more of the tv ramblage I promised over the weekend. Most of it was written Friday night actually; I just didn't want to post an insane amount of writing all at once.

Ramblage today will include:

-Gossip Girl
-Glee
-So You Think You Can Dance
-Parks & Recreation
-How I Met Your Mother
-Vanguard

And P.S. I do still plan to write about last week's Dollhouse & Bones, but I just haven't gotten around to it yet. Even I sometimes fall behind on my tv duties. Stupid real life getting in the way of my obsession with fictional characters! Hee.

Oh tv and internet, how did people waste time before you existed? )

I'd like everyone to think back to where they were in 1994/1995. Go ahead, close your eyes. Picture the scrunchies, the doc martins, the flannel. And just for fun maybe throw in some knee-high socks, mary jane shoes, and babydoll dresses (Oh, 7th grade memories!). Recall what your favorite show was at the time. No, not Melrose Place. (hee) Well, okay, you can think of that one too if you want, but only to fondly remember Kimberly flinging off her wig and blowing up the apartment complex. (Good times.)

No, right now I want you to think more along the lines of Angela, Rickie, Rayanne, Brian, Sharon, and Jordan. Think back to the best teen show ever. Are you with me? Good. And if you aren't, I have good news for you. Hulu.com just got the rights to My So-Called Life (which I'm of course choosing to see as a shout-out to my recent post mentioning it. Heh). Every brilliant episode of its first and only season is available for online viewing, totally free. So if for some reason you've never watched the show (because you were either too old, too young, or living in the Congo at the time perhaps studying apes), now you have another chance.

I actually own the DVDs, but I was still all "OMGYAY!" when I heard the news. I even broke out said DVDs and watched a few episodes last night. Heh, what a dork. But honestly, that show just never gets old. I watch the Christmas episode probably every December, and still start to tear up the minute the ep starts.

It's one of those funny things too, because while you can get angry over the fact that the show was cancelled, at the same time it's almost a blessing that it never had the chance to diminish in quality. It never had a sophomore slump; it never started to suck. It's like this timeless, untainted gem. Always there to revisit and fall in love with all over again.

So, to those of you who never had the opportunity to catch it when it originally aired, get thee to hulu.com, post-haste. Trust me, you won't regret it.

And for everyone who did watch it, feel free to leave comments waxing nostalgic about your favorite My So-Called Life memories, and what kinds of embarassing clothes you were wearing back in the early to mid '90s. As for me, I think I pretty much tipped my hand above. Hee.

Speaking of things that make me happy, I felt inspired for my entry today to share with everyone the following listy list.

5 Random Things That Bring Me Joy:

-being a shipper
-the best video I've ever seen on YouTube
